I don't own one as yet, However I am going this year to get my permit.....gonna look into the biker safety course thats offered here $475 but you come out prepared for the actual road exam. I have been out lookin' for what I want in a bike as well and its come down to a couple of choices.

see if your dmv or local motorcycle groups hold a similar course. In my area the course is $20 they provide bikes, helmets, etc you just need gloves and boots. It's normally all day sat and sun and sunday afternoon someone comes from the dmv and gives a test which is easier than the dmv test and you walk out with a form to take to the dmv and get your license without a written or driving test

$475 seems really high, see if dmv or local motorcycle group has one. Evn harley offers one at many of their dealerships thats cheaper than $475. In my area catapiller the company also offers on in their parking lot.

Hey Man, Yeah I checked into it, $475 is Canadian prices or it s what we have to pay in our Province if you Canadian. They offer these courses through out the biking season, I"ve checked around with Drivers Ed courses as well and nothing there either. So its through Safety New Brunswick

I have always wanted a bike, but my wife has vetoed it. She has good reasoning though, motorcycle fatalities in the army is extremely high... so I admitted defeat.

This is the bike I want though. It is a Hyosung GT650R.

While stationed in Houston awaiting orders I was on burial detail for four servicemen who had died in motorcycle accidents on the same stretch of road in Hawaii and that was within a period of 6 months.  Kind of weird.

Love the Bobber.

The bike I want after the one's I posted above:

Ducati Baby

l have a moto guzzi , and l would love an indian , but we all need a project to keep us occupied so l was thinking of bobbing or cafe racer style honda GL 1000 .

Brian - Really like that Honda, that would be a great project bike.

So I spent about 11 hours riding this weekend on this... Dallas to Houston and back to visit my mother for  Mothers Day, great riding weather.

Although I've ridden mostly crotch-rockets, I'd love to own a nice cruiser, like this. It's a beauty!
